lyrics

Lady of the Sea

It has been many days,
Since his love travelled away.
But he wasn't the man of the sea.
Nor did he know how to be.

So on the shore he would stand.
His heart weighed heavy in the sand.
When she left without a trace,
She left an empty place,
And nothing when she set sail,
but a watery trail.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The suns had set, 'till the moon was full.
Just as the tides, he too felt the pull.
So he sang her one last song,
For the winds to carry, where it belongs.
He missed the love he had yearned,
And heard no word of her return.
So he turned his back on the water,
for what seemed to be forever,
Cause he was nowhere near conquering his fear.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These terms he would not understand.
He was of the water, and he of the land.
Yet they share the same stars,
No matter where they are.
They were grateful for one another.
*****************************************
O' his way fairing lady O' fair.
Where are the wisps of her golden hair?
She will remain unforgotten by he,
And the sea that stole his Lady.
